Niagara Transit Remembers Councillor Wayne Campbell’s Dedication to the Community

Niagara Transit is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Niagara Falls local councillor, Wayne Campbell. Councillor Campbell was a valued Niagara Transit Commission Board member since its inception, and his dedication to our community will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the community during this difficult time.
“I had the pleasure of working with Councillor Wayne Campbell at the City of Niagara Falls twice in my Niagara career as a municipal employee (1998-2000 and again in 2018-2022). We crossed paths again when I worked with Wayne at Niagara Falls Hydro in 2000 – 2003, where he sat as a Board member for many more years than I worked there. While at Hydro, I met Wayne’s daughter Katey, who worked in our summer student program and got to know his wife Helga at many corporate and City events. Wayne always had time for anyone and everyone. He was tireless in support of seniors and those people in our communities who were most at risk. I have so much respect for the public service he modelled for others. My condolences to his family and friends, of which there are many.”
