Holiday Service Hours
Niagara Transit reminds customers of holiday service changes, including free rides and extended hours on New Year’s Eve
As the holiday season approaches, Niagara Transit is sharing a seasonal service reminder to help customers plan ahead. This year’s holiday schedule includes an early service end on Christmas Eve and free, extended service on New Year’s Eve.
On Dec. 24, Niagara Transit will end service earlier than usual to reflect traditionally lower demand. Customers are encouraged to check schedules before travelling.
In partnership with MADD Canada, Niagara Transit will offer free rides after 6 p.m. on Dec. 31, with extended service until 2 a.m. on Jan. 1, making it easier for riders to celebrate and return home safely.
“Christmas Eve slows right down across the region, and our buses do too. Instead of running empty buses, we’ll be winding down early so we can stay out later and provide free trips after 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. Our riders can enjoy the celebrations, have fun, and know we’re here to offer a safe ride home at the end of the night.”
~ Carla Stout, General Manager, Niagara Transit
Holiday service hours vary during the week of Dec. 24 to Jan. 1; Niagara Transit encourages customers to check their schedules before heading out.
