Cold Weather Alert in Effect Monday, January 20 until Wednesday, January 22

A cold weather alert is in effect for the Niagara Region. Environment and Climate Change Canada has forecasted potential windchill values below -20°C from 7 AM on Monday, January 20, until 7 PM on Wednesday, January 22, for the Niagara Region.

Niagara Transit offers free rides to designated warming centres on buses and Microtransit in Niagara when Environment Canada issues a cold weather advisory.

During these extreme cold events, the following facilities welcome all members of the public during their regular business hours to warm up.

Below is an interactive map of warming Centre locations across Niagara. Each pin provides details such as operating hours and directions. While these facilities are available for public use, they are not equipped or staffed to provide services or support for individuals.

If you require support or services related to homelessness, please call 211 and ask for a connection to Niagara Assertive Street Outreach (NASO) or consult the list of additional local support agencies.
