2024 Annual Report Highlights Record Ridership and Exceptional Service Delivery
On April 15, 2025, Niagara Transit released its 2024 Annual Report, providing an overview of its performance in delivering safe, reliable and sustainable transit service in Niagara.
The report showcases Niagara Transit’s achievements in the areas of service excellence, safety, customer focus, affordability and employee success.
Key highlights of the report include:
- 10.9 million rides delivered across all services
- 356,000 rides delivered on Specialty Services (commingled specialized and microtransit)
- Nearly 100% service delivery on conventional bus service, with 83% on-time performance (OTP) outperforming the industry peer average of 79% OTP
- 90% of riders reported feeling safe taking Niagara Transit
Looking ahead in 2025, Niagara Transit is finalizing it’s first Facilities, Strategic Asset, and Service Network Master Plan. This plan will recommend an optimal service strategy tailored to meet the specific needs of the Niagara community. In addition, on July 1st Niagara Transit will implement a new flat fare of $3.50 per trip across Niagara and introduce the Niagara Transit Benefit pass for individuals that are receiving Ontario Works, or Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), or meet a low-income threshold.
