The Niagara Transit was established by the Regional Council as a municipal service Board by By-law No. 2022-38, passed on May 26, 2022, in accordance with the Municipal Act.
Niagara Transit Board
The board's primary mission is to seamlessly integrate the local transit systems into a unified organization responsible for public transit services across the Niagara region.
The Regional Council formally established this commission as a municipal service board through By-law No. 2022-38, passed on May 26, 2022, in accordance with the Municipal Act. Its composition includes representation from regional and local municipal councillors, ensuring all municipalities have a voice in this transformative endeavour.
The current board includes the following members:
