Niagara Region Transit - Thorold
Niagara Region Transit offers fixed-route bus services, OnDemand transit and specialized transit to Thorold residents, businesses and visitors.
- Fixed-route bus service provides riders with a reliable, repetitive, fixed schedule based upon a specific route with vehicles stopping to pick up and deliver passengers to specific locations.
- OnDemand transit is a ridesharing service that lets riders request trips in real-time through a mobile app or over the phone by selecting a pickup point and destination.
- Specialized transit services of Thorold who have a disability that prevents them from using conventional transit services.
Niagara Region Transit can transport riders in Thorold to:
- a different location within the Thorold boundaries;
- a designated service area located across Niagara; or,
- a designated transit hub located in Port Colborne, St. Catharines or Welland.

Your fare allows you to travel from your location to the pre-set destination. Pre-paid ride passes (single ride, 10-ride or monthly) are available for purchase on the Transit App.

Niagara Region Transit services operate year-round.

OnDemand transit - TransCab
TransCab is available in an area of West St. Catharines where buses do not currently provide service. A vehicle will pick you up in the current TransCab service zone and drop you off at a bus stop in the drop off zone. The drop off zone is programmed in the App, but includes most bus stops west of Martindale Rd./Louth St.
Going to the West St. Catharines TransCab area
Book your ride and be sure to note the bus stop that you will be picked up at. Arrive at the bus stop for the pick up time and wait for your bus to arrive. Pay your fare when you board the bus.
Travelling from West St. Catharines TransCab area
Book your pick up and be ready for the pick up window. The bus will drop you off at the bus stop you select closest to your destination or transfer point.
TransCab operates in St. Catharines year-round.

All TransCab rides can be booked up to 24-hours in advance, through the website, downloading the Transit App or by calling 1-833-NRT-LINE (1-833-678-5463). A small St. Catharines Transit bus will pick you up. If you are transferring into the fixed route transit network, please be sure to ask for a transfer.

Your vehicle will pick you up within a block or two of your doorstep or a nearby location / intersection. The average walk to a pick-up or drop-off location is 100 metres.
The maximum wait time is one hour. Using a rideshare service means you may need to make a detour so you can pick up another rider. The maximum detour time to accommodate a ride share is 20 minutes.
There is a $1.50 cancellation fee if you cancel after 60 seconds of booking completion.
Riders 13 to 18 years can ride alone with the consent of their parents. Riders under the age of 13 years need to be accompanied by an adult.
When you start your trip with OnDemand, you can easily use a transfer between trips.
Niagara Specialized Transit services residents of Niagara who have a disability that prevents them from using conventional transit services.
